Kansas

Emporia, KS - Union, MO

After we crossed into Missouri, the trip began to feel more familiar to what I'm used to on the East Coast. More trees and green vegetation. This day was a stretch and couldn't find a lot to photograph along route 50. I had to bring out my phone and creatively search for interesting stopping points. Unfortunately sometimes you can only do so much.

Points of interest were the Ragtime Museum,  a 2000 Foot Radio Tower, the Giant 8 Ball Water Tower, and Jefferson City.

Pueblo, CO - Emporia, KS

As sad as I was to leave the mountains, it was time to move on to the Midwest, a part of America I'd never seen before. The eastern part of Colorado becomes flat very quick once you leave Pueblo. Level is the more accurate word the local people use in Kansas. Architecture had become my focus since there were no more mountains to stare at and with no main points of interest, we decided to get a lot of driving done.
