AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8G ED

I've had the pleasure of utilizing my work the last couple of weeks thanks to the AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8G ED lens. The quality of glass is exceedingly noticeable. Sharp, smooth, and precise. Combine this with the new Nikon D810 and you've got a perfect match. I photograph a lot of events and portraits, so I needed to find a lens in the middle, one that would give me a wide angle but also a large aperture.

When it's wide open, it's bokeh is amazing. When it's aperture is small, everything is very much in focus, collecting all the details.

The only downside I see with this lens is that it's very heavy. It will feel like a dumbbell hanging from your neck, however, the quality you get from this lens will make you forget about all that weight.

I plan on using this lens for the majority of my road trip across America next month. There will be plenty of opportunities for great landscape shots. I've only used this lens for portraits and street photography lately, so I'm excited to get out and really put this thing to the test.
